Best Wool Carpet trends

Carpet is a longstanding favourite flooring option for New Zealand homeowners. More than just surface selection, it’s about empowering the entire room.

With the year drawing to a close, let’s look back at which carpet styles and colours our customers loved the most and also look forward to upcoming trends in 2022.

CHUNKY TEXTURES INSPIRED BY NATURAL BEAUTY

New Zealand wool carpets continue to be sought after for their unmatched sensory experience with their bold textures and earthy tones. For example, Transpire our chunky loop pile featured among our most popular Bremworth Collection carpets with its unique shadow design and range of cool and warm greys.

From our Aspire Collection, it’s no surprise that Samurai carpet featured highly, with its skilfully crafted chunky loops providing luxurious layering for your flooring. Our level loop pile carpet Overtones also continues to inspire homeowners with its beautiful accent yarn.

A RENAISSANCE OF COLOUR

This year we saw the return of bold, rich colours that awaken the senses and ignites excitement within the whole home environment.

We launched three limited edition colours into our ever-popular Galet chunky loop pile range – Sage (a forest green), Sienna (copper) and Indigo (navy blue). Sienna brings fresh, earthy tones indoors, inspired by the tussock tundra of New Zealand’s alpine ecosystem.

WHAT'S INSPIRING US IN 2022

Amit Gupta from our Product Innovation & Design team, talks about what is inspiring and informing our design pipeline as we see demand for natural fibre-based flooring continue to rise.

“Everything has changed, is changing, and will continue to change. Nature is consistently rich in textures and patterns. Textures and patterns can shift our visual perception and emotional response to our surroundings. They can also define surfaces, impact scale, convey a design style, and add visual interest to a space.”

“Innovation requires unconventional thinking, curiosity, and creative freedom, to work with shapes and colours to form the harmony. By adopting innovative methods combining traditional arts and experimental techniques, we aim to create a nature-inspired design that gives your home a relaxed and tranquil feeling.”
