We’re looking for a practical, solutions‑focused Senior Systems Engineer to join Bremworth in Napier, supporting the technology that keeps our manufacturing operations running.

This is a hands‑on role offering variety across infrastructure, end‑user support, and manufacturing systems, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and keeping production moving.
About the role
Based in Napier, you’ll be the primary technical owner of site IT infrastructure, and the senior escalation point for Levels 1–3 support. You’ll ensure incidents and service requests are resolved efficiently while maintaining high standards of availability and security.
You’ll also act as the key IT liaison for production‑adjacent systems, including enterprise‑wide support of the Ignition MES platform, ensuring IT governance and cybersecurity requirements are met without disrupting manufacturing operations.
This role requires confident communication with a wide range of stakeholders — from frontline users and engineers through to plant leadership, senior management, and external vendors.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Overseeing the Napier site IT infrastructure to ensure high availability.
- Maintain and optimise servers, networking, storage, and endpoint devices.
- Implement and monitor security controls, including SOC tools, MFA, and Azure AD policies.
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and IT standards compliance.
- Deploy and support laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals.
- Document system configurations and keep infrastructure records up-to-date.
- Manage user access lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and reviews.
- Bridge IT and OT needs, balancing cybersecurity, uptime, and production.
- Provide Ignition MES support for all Bremworth plants.
- Troubleshoot MES issues (PLC connectivity, OPC servers, SQL databases).
- Assist with Ignition screen, tag, and historian development and maintenance.
- Work with engineers to integrate MES with production equipment.
- Support MES modules (OEE, downtime tracking, production scheduling).
- Support OT network segmentation and cybersecurity compliance.
- Coordinate vendors to ensure IT/OT governance alignment.
Skills and experience
- IT infrastructure support in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Proficient with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune
- Proven experience in supporting and troubleshooting enterprise network environments, including LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall technologies
- Exposure to endpoint security and backup solutions
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, OPC UA, and industrial control systems
- Desirable experience with MES; Ignition MES (Perspective and Vision) preferred
- Desirable SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting
- Strong communication; effective with IT and OT teams at all levels.

- 3+ years’ IT infrastructure/MES support experience
- Able to work with Auckland teams, travel as needed, and support on-call ops
