This important role is based at our Head Office in Papatoetoe and reports to our Chief Financial Officer. Due to the resignation of our Team Member, we now require a full-time, permanent person to fulfil the role of Senior Financial Accountant. What you'll do:
The Role
The role of Senior Financial Accountant reports directly to the CFO, and provides support across the following responsibilities:
- Provide strategic finance leadership, expertise and advice to the CFO and the business
- Deliver financial modelling and provide insights to the business for effective decision making.
- Review/Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Take charge of monthly management reporting, analysis and commentary for sales (both against prior year and budget/forecast) and to provide sales leadership and operational teams with relevant and meaningful insights to drive improvement in performance;
- Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecast of performance;
- Assist with the preparation of half-yearly and annual financial statements, including the review and audit of these statements;
- Ensure compliance with the entity’s tax obligations; and
- Contribute strongly to improvements in processes and systems
Your Profile
To be considered for this role, you will be a CA qualified Accountant who has the following attributes:
- Proven experience in a wide-remit Accountant role where you have demonstrated financial and commercial capability.
- Initiative, proactiveness and drive
- Strong background in management reporting
- Exposure to/hands on experience with the requirements of NZX-listed companies
- Demonstrated advanced MS Excel and ERP expertise and experience.
- Proven financial modelling experience, data analysis, visualisation, and insights reporting.
- Professionalism and integrity
- Effective interpersonal skills and experience partnering cross-functionally
- Strategic and operational capability
